Hello, it is lovely to meet you!

Hi, we are Jacquelyn and Georgie, mum and daughter, who work together in Watchet, Somerset creating textile gifts, homeware and artwork all from recycled fabric. Our mission is to create beautiful things from unwanted scraps making them useful again.

Between us we save fabric by plaiting strips of fabric for rugs, block printing and free machine embroidering original artwork which means more fabric is saved.

Over the many years we have been creating recycled textile homeware and accessories we have developed a grading system for fabric. The best quality fabrics are kept for the cushions and scarves whilst any damaged fabric is cut into strips for the plaiting. Any scrap bits left over from cutting out go towards Jacquelyn's textile artwork or our rag rug kits. So our variety of products has really developed as different fabric really does demand to made into different things. You can find out more about where we get our fabric from, how we sort it and how we are developing new ways to save more fabric by reading our process here.

To get an insight into the different techniques that we use to create each of our handmade gifts we have put together little guides below. Throughout the year we run workshops and attend different events and we love chatting about what we do and sharing ideas! There is so much fabric to save from landfill that the more people that are doing this the better! Please see our events page for workshops and locations to chat to us in person or contact us with any questions you have.

Jacquelyn's Artwork

Jacquelyn has been illustrating and creating all her life. More recently combining her love of drawing with recycled textiles and creating unique free machine embroidered image by adapting a vintage sewing machine to do it (well obvisouly we were going to adapt what we had rather than buy brand new!).

Our favourite images of local scenes and gorgeous animales have been turned into greetings cards and framed prints.

Hand block printing by Georgie

Georgie is new to all things creative and is learning from her mum Jacquelyn all the time. Block printing, repeat pattern and stenciling has quickly become Georgie's favourite as well as anything that involves mixing colour.

Georgie uses wooden print blocks which are a combination of vintage designs and Jacquelyn's illustrations to print on all sorts of recycled fabric from silk mixes to hessian.
